CORRUPTION IN BANGLADESH
Staff Reporter. The Daily Star. Dhaka: 02 November 2020 : Corruption is a burning question nowadays. Almost all the government sectors are now afflicted with a widespread corruption. It has broken the record of the past. But there is none to raise his voice against this social cancer. Political corruption is unlimited. The corrupt politicians do not try to realize that by adopting corruption they harm not only the society but also their own families. The corrupt officials are sucking up the blood of our economy and are retarding the socio-economic progress of our country. Without taking bribe no person in authority is doing anything. It is high time we brought the corrupt politicians and officials to book and gave an exemplary punishment. The Anti Corruption Commission along with other concerning institutions should come forward to take stern actions against the corrupt persons organizations boldly and impartially. The mass media also can play a significant role in this regard.

স্টাফ রিপোর্টার। দ্য ডেইলি স্টার .ঢাকা: 02 নভেম্বর 2020: দুর্নীতি আজকাল জ্বলন্ত প্রশ্ন। প্রায় সব সরকারী খাতই এখন ব্যাপক দুর্নীতির শিকার। এটি অতীতের রেকর্ডটি ভেঙে দিয়েছে। তবে এই সামাজিক ক্যান্সারের বিরুদ্ধে তার আওয়াজ তোলার কেউ নেই। রাজনৈতিক দুর্নীতি সীমাহীন। দুর্নীতিবাজ রাজনীতিবিদরা বুঝতে চেষ্টা করে না যে দুর্নীতি গ্রহণ করে তারা কেবল সমাজকেই নয়, নিজের পরিবারকেও ক্ষতি করে। দুর্নীতিবাজ কর্মকর্তারা আমাদের অর্থনীতির রক্ত চুষছে এবং আমাদের দেশের আর্থ-সামাজিক অগ্রগতি রোধ করছে। ঘুষ না নিয়ে কর্তৃপক্ষের কোনও ব্যক্তি কিছুই করছেন না। এখন সময় এসেছে যে আমরা দুর্নীতিবাজ রাজনীতিবিদ ও কর্মকর্তাদের বুকিংয়ে আনে এবং অনুকরণীয় শাস্তি দিয়েছি। দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশনসহ অন্যান্য সংস্থাগুলিকে দুর্নীতিগ্রস্থ ব্যক্তি সংস্থার বিরুদ্ধে সাহসী ও নিরপেক্ষভাবে কঠোর পদক্ষেপ নিতে এগিয়ে আসা উচিত। গণমাধ্যমও এক্ষেত্রে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা নিতে পারে।
